About the Founder: Gwendolyn Holden Barry Gwendolyn Holden Barry brings over 33 years of experience working within nature and alongside healers, shamans, Elders, and unique teachers from diverse cultural and alternative traditions. Her Indigenous education serves as the foundation of Daughters of Isis’ wholesale catalog, which has become a trusted resource for many. Gwen’s expertise is anchored in an academic and practical background. She trained in aromatherapy at the Academy of Holistic Studies in Great Britain and earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Cornell University. A life-changing summer seminar with the renowned mythologist Joseph Campbell provided a guiding direction for her life and work, inspiring her commitment to creating specific tools for evolving consciousness. Her journey with sacred plant ally’s in the extensive realm of botanicals began in the original shop’s "herb room," where Spirit guidance opened her to the voices of plant allies. These encounters taught her how to make true Sweetgrass and White Sage oils, foundational creations that launched the Ancestor Aromachologie line of Medicine Oils. Gwen’s blending artistry and vision are at the core of the Daughters of Isis catalog. DEBORAH ANN BARRY - When Daughters of Isis, inc. began in 1991, Debbie and her sister Gwen had just returned from an extended trip through Europe discovering the New Age community abroad. Debbie patterned their new shop after the unique shops in Covent Garden, London and the High Street of Glastonbury, England. She shelved the largest apothecary in the state of Florida, including over 300 individual flowers, fungi, roots, leaves, whole plants… Debbie created an “herb room” that grew our shop up.
Debbie is an acupuncturist, ceremonial healer and herb gardener. She pours, packs and helps to make us grow!
